"Favorite" Photos

^Shot by David Light

^Shot by Brian Valentine

I honestly really couldn't decide upon my favorite photo that I've taken so I decided to narrow things down by only looking at the photos I've taken with my new camera. Out of those photos I like this self portrait the best by far, although it hasn't receive very much attention from the public. I spent about 2 or 3 hours editing it in Photoshop, so maybe I like it so much due to the time I spent with it. Well I chose the macro shot of the dew drops by Brian Valentine for my favorite piece by a well known artist because I find it very inspirational and similar to my work in the realm of macro photography. They are similar in that they are both macro shots with an interesting composition. However they're very different in the subject and matter of composition itself. They obviously both have to do with macro photography, which was in my list of 100. All in all, I find Brian Valentine as a huge inspiration in all forms of my photography.

  1. To tell you the truth, I think that that self portrate photo is one of the best I saw durring the cratique we had together. I relly like it! The light, and reflection on your hair, and eyes is awesome. and the little light in the background effect that you might have added is a very nice touch!

    good post!!

  2. honestly, i like your piece more than the other one... it's weird but I find all the eyes to be obnoxious. But your piece has good composition, good color, background and a real interest in the picture. It makes me think of what's going on behind you.

    Nice work!
